oh snap

that was the sound my chain made at the crit yesterday, which was strange because i've never had that happen before. i just heard some clicking, then my chain was gone. fortunately the redline guys in the pit were able to fix me up and get me back in the race. shortly after that, was that sound again. but this time it was me. i was cooked and just couldn't hold on any more. crap. i hate not finishing races, but i didn't have much of a choice... no juice in the tank!

but i'm glad hood's over and glad i finished it this time. it's good to get a preview of tour of utah-like racing. hopefully i'll get to race this weekend and it will feel like i can do something other than packfill! but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Maybe you should check your chain for wear occasionally? We all know you have an aversion to cleaning your chain, but this is a safety concern for a guy that can produce a gagilion watts at will.

ah yes, you're recalling the rose from last year. my chain's been pretty nice this year believe it or not. and that chain was only about 3 weeks old. would you believe bad chains just happen? the answer is yes.

I think that there is a book about, "When bad chains happen to good people"
