back to bike racing! after taking last weekend off, i was itching to be a bike racer again last night. it was only 45 minutes, but it was in downtown eagle with lots of fans on a fast twilight course. from the gun i was ready to go. my goal for the night, other than help the team win, was to get a workout. um, mission accomplished. i spent 35 of the 45 minutes off the front... sometimes with guys, sometimes solo. it was a blast. when the field brought me back, it was calvin's turn, so he took off and got the win.
unfortunately there was a big crash with about 3 laps to go and slack hit the deck hard. we neutralized the race since he was laying in corner 1... i figured it was be best if he didn't get run over again. kind of an anti-climatic finish, but it was fun til then! i think there were 2 other crashes also... because by the end, slack, stu, brandon, and matt had crashed. YOW! that's why i like riding off the front!! stu has a little fracture in a finger, slack has a concussion, matt looked fine, and brandon busted a carbon wheel and landed on his newly healed collarbone, which fortunately held up. carnage!

hopefully the state champs road race will be raced upright tomorrow!

4 total crashes in corner 1... nuckin' futs. Too many people square shaped corners into it and sliding out on the paint
