rockin at elkhorn

First, I'm going to point out I haven't had internet in 2 days, and I don't think I liked it. That aside, the team had a great weekend at Elkhorn in Baker City, OR. We started off with 5 guys in the lead group of 15 on the first road race, with the stage going to our very own Kevin Rowe. Whoop whoop! Brandon was the man of the day, going off the front solo and then riding for a couple hours with 2 other guys. He set up the entire weekend. Who says he's just a gimp? Oh, and he got taken out again. Maybe he is just a gimp... except he went off the front again after that, so he's just nails.

The TT was next.... I actually didn't look hard at the stage results, but the GC results afterward had 5 of us in the top 10 (2,3,6,8,10). I was 10th.

The crit was interesting. After a bad crash in the women's race, they called that race. When the official started the 3's, he said if it rained the race was over. About 10 minutes into their race a drizzle came and the race was done. The drizzle continued and at our start time they called ours too, lucky for everyone there. I was gonna smoke that wet crit, like I always do... Or at least finish...er....

Then the finale stage was the 105 mile RR with an 8 mile finishing climb. With 5 guys in the top 10, we had a couple cards to play. It started with calvin (6th) and Bradon (again) going in a small break. Somehow, a short time later, about 15 guys rolled off the front, which included Stu and Mayfield (3rd). Sweet! They hammered, etc etc... but will routley, a pro from symmetrics, flexed his muscles and beat everyone to the top after bridging (just barely, rowe was right there).

Bottom line, we rode really well, and it's only going to get better. I'm plenty happy with how it turned out, with rowe and mayfield 2,3 overall. yeahhhh.

wow, this is long.

see you in pocatello this weekend for some grind action!
