i'm pretty used to a type of racer i see in stage races. but when i go do a crit, like today, the racers are a different breed. they bump, they yell, they cut-off, and they go real fast through corners. and today was the second time this year where i've started to get a little critter in me. the race was only kinda hard instead of insanely hard, which made it much easier to move up. with 3 to go i found myself at 3rd wheel (with a break of 4 of the road). i hung on to that spot until 1 to go when i got swarmed. by the time i got mean and took a spot, i was 25 back. not good. money goes 25 deep. i picked up a few spots on a straight, then started my "sprint" a straightaway early to get 23rd on the day. it was a fun race! about 10 pros came to play which makes for a sweet race. thanks to coach jonathan for getting me out there and racing today!
next up, read for my first day of school tomorrow! Then fly to california friday and throw down at nats.
